4.5 stars for Quest Heroes Journey Bordeaux Blend 2017

Having barely been released, Quest Bordeaux Blend 2017 was awarded 92 points and 4.5 stars by the Platter’s Wine Guide late last year and is now available online at the highly acclaimed Frogitt & Vonkel Private Wine Merchants or at Du Toitskloof Wines cellar door.

Winemaker Willie Stofberg who is responsible for making this range believes that ‘Wine is like magic’.

“I learned this from my dad when he was a winemaker and I was a young boy walking beside him in die cellar. Like any good magician, you need to be disciplined with a focus on attention to detail and create something that will excite your audience and leave them wanting more. Every sip – a taste of wonder, every bottle – a quest to discover.”

Platter’s Wine Guide describes Willie’s Bordeaux Blend 2017 as ‘deeply rich and ripe’ with ‘cab in charge’. The wine is ‘opulent, packed with cassis and tobacco, full-bodied and curvy. New oak adds a serious note and firm tannins for a future’. This wine will become even more beautiful with age.

The 2017 vintage is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot with hand-picked premium grapes from Darling and Stellenbosch.

Frogitt & Vonkel adds that ‘the final blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot showcases beautiful elegance, complexity and a long, lingering finish.  A classic Bordeaux-style blend with an intense dark ruby colour and perfectly balanced tannins. The wine can cellar for 10 years.’
