“When I find myself outside, in nature, I need to pause and engage the intricate details with all my senses. I am motivated to weave specific messages into my artwork; messages of hope, beauty, encouragement and peace. I am motivated by the hope I have for the viewer to experience and resonate with these messages for I believe it’s something we all crave. Beauty, detail and the ability to feel are so easily overlooked and pushed aside, because life is so fast-paced. I hope to create a peaceful atmosphere in my artwork - a moment where the viewer can push the pause button, take note and feel. A landscape will always be my starting point of reference; I recognise the landscape, and from there on I go where it takes me as I give in to my sensed experience of it. I constantly search for the spiritual element in my artwork; that which is beyond the visible, and I yearn to reproduce it.”
