Land's End Sauvignon Blanc 2018 as FNB Top 10 Sauvignon Blanc Winner

From 107 producers submitting 183 Sauvignon Blanc wines, Du Toitskloof’s South Coast range Land’s End was selected as one of the FNB Top 10 Sauvignon Blanc winners for 2019.

This is the first major breakthrough that Du Toitskloof has seen with their Land’s End Sauvignon Blanc wine since obtaining the well-known Elim brand in 2016. Last year the previous 2017 vintage was awarded Gold at Michelangelo 2018 and Silver at the IWSC 2018 Awards - but for the country’s largest Sauvignon Blanc producer in the packaged-product market, this 2019 accolade far outshines the rest.

Winemaker Shawn Thomson’s words echoed the voice of the Du Toitskloof team when he said that he felt overjoyed with immense satisfaction, “Land’s End has grown extremely dear to our hearts”.

These special Elim grapes are harvested early in the morning and loaded into cooling trucks before making its way to Du Toitskloof Wines in the Breedekloof, where the wine is made. So far the 2018 vintage (FNB Top 10) has already been awarded Gold Michelangelo 2019 as well as Silver at the IWSC 2019 Awards showing how the 2018 wine continues to develop after bottling. The wine exudes a bouquet of wild tropical fruit, intermingled with hints of flint and freshly picked herbs. These flavours lead to a luscious mouth-filling palate of ripe kiwi fruit and Cape gooseberry with a long mineral finish.

The last time Du Toitskloof was selected as one of the FNB Top 10 Sauvignon Blancs was with their Du Toitksloof Sauvignon Blanc 2012 vintage in 2012.
